I am an award winning Scottish writer, director, filmmaker and 2019 graduate of the MA in Directing Fiction at the National Film & Television School which I attended on a scholarship granted by the Dewar Arts Award and the Scottish International Education Trust.
My graduation film “We Have Everywhere to Go” was awarded runner up in the “Power Your Breakthrough” competition by Intel and is also streaming on the RAINDANCE affiliated online curation service paus.tv alongside my 2018 short “The Deep Sleep”. In 2016, “Greylag” was screened in competition at the Glasgow Short Film Festival, whilst also winning several awards at the Royal Television Society Awards in the same year.
My films focus primarily on self discovery, our sense of self, and how they are affected by our interpersonal relationships and future ambitions. I often explore these deeply personal themes through melancholic, existential romantic stories, inspired by filmmakers such as Joachim Trier, Mike Mills and Mia Hansen-Løve.
Alongside my own work, I am also an experienced Director’s Assistant, having recently finished working with the BAFTA award winning director Babak Anvari on his Netflix UK feature “I Came By”.
